Windows Server 2003 End of life Countdown
What does this mean
As of the 24th July 2015, Microsoft are finally retiring the support of Windows Server 2003.
Support for Windows XP was retired last year and Windows 2003 Server is fast approaching end of life
How does this affect my everyday business?
In IT terms Windows 2003 Server is now classed as a relic and will soon become a major security issue to any business. Even though it will be possible to carry on using Windows Server 2003, it is strongly recommended that you do move away from software which is no longer supported as soon as possible to avoid the dangers and future problems.
What are the possibly consequences if I don’t update?
- Organisations that are governed by regulatory bodies may find that they no longer comply if they are still running Windows Server 2003.
- Older Software running on unsupported systems are more vulnerable to cyber security issues from Viruses & data mining.
